Bubble Day was a long-standing tradition at North Elementary School. We kept the 1st day of spring tradition going at the MCSCS with Pre-K and Kindergarten students. We also were lucky to have the PTG purchase a balloon arch for the school to enjoy. The balloon arch was created by Jazmine Doyen and her business, Maine Shore Event Decor. Now, that we blew bubbles and celebrated Spring could someone tell Mother Nature that it is SPRING!!!

Recently, Ms. Murphy, Mrs. White and Mrs, DaCosta's classrooms had an unforgettable experience welcoming Mr. Drew and Animals Too to our school! 🐢🕷️🐍
Students had the opportunity to learn about and interact with an incredible variety of animals, including a sulcata tortoise, snapping turtle, tegus, a tarantula, a python snake, and even cockroaches!
The presentation was both educational and engaging, giving students a hands-on experience that sparked curiosity, excitement, and lots of brave moments. We are so grateful for this unique opportunity to bring learning to life in such a fun and meaningful way!

Ms. Gower's 2nd Graders have been learning about biographies. The students interviewed their classmates and are now working on the final copies titled, " My Friend’s Life!" Check out the smiles and young authors at work!

The Kindergarten students in Mr. Caldwell and Mrs. Evan's Kindergarten class practiced writing words with shaving cream. The students practiced words such as: like, can, me, go, see that we call sight words and we practice so that students will know them in a SNAP!
Mrs. Seymour's 4th grade students used base ten blocks to learn division. The 4th grade students and teachers enjoy this lesson because it a great visual that really helps students understand how division works. Go mathematicians!
Good afternoon MCSCS! We thank Ms. Stevens for providing us with an Irish bagpipe serenade as the students and staff arrived at school on St. Patrick's Day!
The staff also had some fun playing Rock-Paper-Scissors though out St. Patrick's Day! The competition went right up until 2:00 and made both the staff and students laugh and compete throughout the day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day from the MCSCS! Thank you to Ms. Stevens for greeting the students this morning with a live performance playing the bagpipes and we also had a few leprechauns on the loose! Enjoy the day!
Mrs. Noyes' third graders are bringing science to life in their classroom by raising salmon eggs. The students are monitoring the eggs as they develop . The students engage in learning what type of environment the salmon eggs need to grow into healthy salmon ready to be released back into their natural environment. Watch for future pictures from Mrs. Noyes as well as Ms. Jameson and her 5th graders.
On Saturday, February 28th. MCSCS hosted families for a Play and Learn that included a read aloud , crafts, games , play, snacks, and fun all focused on Construction. The library was quite active for the hour. The next Play and Learn will be on Saturday, March 21st from 9am-10am and the theme will be: Spring Flowers. The 4th Grade Classrooms will each have the opportunity to visit Augusta during the month of March. Their tour includes a visit to the Blaine House and eating lunch at the State House Cafe . A great experience for our 4th grade students. Enjoy the pics of Mrs. Seymour's class.
The Title One teachers at the MCSCS work alongside classroom teachers to utilize a student's academic strengths to accelerate and work towards filling in learning gaps. The Title One team meets many times a school year to monitor data, student growth, interventions and plan professional development for teachers and ed techs. We are thankful for out Title One Coaches and Interventionists.
The Cat in the Hat was on the loose at the MCSCS for READ ACROSS AMERICA week. The Cat played by our Principal, Mrs. Kreider, visited each classroom to read a Dr. Seuss book. The students loved the cat and her animated story telling!

The 5th Grade class will all have the opportunity the week of March 2nd to visit Colby College to learn about Maine Native Americans. Today Mr. Herrick and Mrs. Fissette's class went on the field trip and learned about Maine Native American cultures and the different types of weaving that the Native Americans create. Thank you Colby College for making these trips possible with funding for lunch, the art tour, and transportation.
