Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Fissette's students completed a scavenger hunt as a team to kick off April vacation!!! Check out the teams out having lots of fun!

Mrs. Seymour's class interviewed students from Mr. Caldwell and Mrs. Everettโs class so the 4th graders can design bubble wands for each student. The kids are excited to get designing and build the wands with the 3-D printers!! Can't wait to blow some bubbles!

Mrs. Fissette's Class outside enjoying the sunshine at the MCSCS...We hope to return from vacation with a little more spring weather to play in!

Mrs. Seymour's students enjoying learning science, math and time with their SCTC student
Science: Students use models to understand how different types of trees respond to weight on their branches and how this adaptation helps the trees survive in their environment.
Math: Another couple fun and educational math activity using graph paper to help with area and perimeter. Students also learning about points, lines, line segments, and rays through a card sort activity.
Our class has been lucky to have an SCTC student to help us learn and have fun!

Can you believe that it has been an entire week since we were having a GLOW Party at the MCSCS!!! Thank you Parent-Teacher Group for hosting a wonderful event for the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. A great night of dancing, conga-lines, limbo, GLOW Stix, and line dancing. Thank you to the DJ and parents for making it such a memorable night. Check out the pics and remember to dance and play outside during April Break!

Are you ready to RUMBLE? The March Informational Book Madness competition came to an end and the WINNER was revealed at a very lively assembly on Thursday, April 16th.
The assembly started with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students playing a game of Basketball Knock-Out and the two winning students, Camden and Cade, moved on to compete against the teachers. The FINAL winner was a 4th Grade student, Cade. Way to complete against the teachers!
Check out the pics, the final two books and then the BIG reveal! The BEST was that the author of the book sent a personalized message to the MCSCS thanking them for the vote and a little bit about their journey as authors. The winning book was The True and Lucky Life of a Turtle. A special thanks to Mrs. LaPointe and Ms. Murray for coordinating and to all the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers and students for all the reading and voting.
The BEST part was kids and teachers WON lots and lots of GREAT books! Happy Vacation and don't forget to read over break.

Mrs. Fissette's class love their Taskmaster challenges every Thursday and Friday. Our challenge for last week was to build the tallest tower that could hold a tennis ball, but without being able to speak to their group!

We are especially proud of the 15 recipients from our Margaret Chase Smith Community Schoolโ thank you for representing our school, and congratulations on this incredible achievement.
A big thank you goes to the event sponsors, Skowhegan Savings Bank, Franklin Savings Bank, and Redington Fairview General Hospital. Thank you for always supporting our students' dreams, you made all of this possible!

Mrs. Borwn's 2nd Graders and Mrs. Bernard's Kindergarten students love to get together to read books. Check out the book buddies in action and reading to one another. MCSCS Community School helping students to connect and mentor one another.
